The holidays can be a difficult time for body sculptors. Below are a few suggestions that I feel will help you get through the temptations of the holidays.

Whenever possible, try to serve yourself, others may be more enthusiastic about her high-calorie creations than you are. Take only a small sample of things you might like, and don't feel obligated to clean your plate.

While ingesting a few cocktails can help enhance a party, it comes with a big nutritional hit. Alcohol has a lot of empty calories. Whenever possible, choose seltzer water or diet soda as mixers, and sip your cocktails slowly, alternating each one with a full glass of water to keep well-hydrated while reducing you chances for a workout-spoiling hangover the next day.

To avoid sweet temptations, arm yourself with a protein bar while shopping, running errands, etc. Resist the temptation to eat poorly whenever possible.

Total elimination of foods or treats during the new year usually backfires, as you'll be more likely to binge a forbidden food later on. So treat yourself in moderation, choosing your vices wisely.

Finally increase your cardio by 10 to 15 minutes every workout during the next couple of months - this will alleviate stress and help you burn a few extra calories caused by over indulging.

Enjoy yourself and take the above suggestions to heart - I guarantee you will be happier in the New Year if you do.
